JIS G3141 Deep Drawing Quality Cold Rolled SPCF Steel
What is SPCF Steels? SPCF steels are deep drawing quality non aging cold rolled steels, which are consumed for drawing applications. The SPCF steels are different with SPCE steels in a way that mechanical properties of SPCE steel change little with its age unlike the SPCE steel. Mild Steels have affinity toward strain aging, which means that material grains will dislocate with each other until met by each other in the form obstacles. These obstacles cause strain hardening, non-aging steel diminish the tendency for this failure. Non-aging steel is manufactured with aluminum additives which is also known as killed steel.
Dimensional Characteristics of SPCF Steels: The appropriate thickness for this SPCF material as demarcated in the JIS G 3141 initiates from 0.25 mm to 2.5 mm. The width of SPCF steel ranges from 950 mm to 2000 mm.
The Chemical Composition of SPCF Steels: JIS G 3141 outlines the chemical composition of SPCF steels as beneath:
- Maximum percentage of Carbon (C) is 0.08 percent.
- Maximum percentage of Manganese (Mn) is 0.45 percent.
- Maximum percentage of Phosphorous (P) is 0.020 percent.
- Maximum percentage of Sulphur (S) is 0.030 percent.
Remaining is iron (Fe) percentage and with few negligible impurities.
Mechanical Properties of SPCF Steels: Following are some of the mechanical properties of SPCF steels:
- The tensile strength of the SPCF Steels is expressed in Newton per millimeters and it must be at-least 270 N/mm2 (MPa) & the yield strength is 210 N/mm2 (MPa).
- The minimum percentage ranges for elongation is from 40 to 45 percent starting from 0.4 mm to 2.5 mm and over.
- The material possesses special non-aging property.
SPCF steels can be deep drawn more & can last more as compare to SPCE steels. Similar to SPCF steel, HR4 hot rolled deep drawing steel is aluminum killed & is called as non-aging material.
